OUR HISTORY
New Ellis Chapel Baptist Church was born from the vision of a committed group of believers and builders who saw the growth of vibrant new community in Washington Heights Community (now known as the Holly Oak Park). Together, they established New Ellis Chapel Baptist Church as a place of faith, fellowship, and services.
Today, “ The New E” continues its mission to be a source of spiritual influence, inspiration, and impact across our region. Through community engagement, meaningful partnerships, and empowerment, we are committed to walking alongside others, sharing hope, and making a difference in the lives of those around us.

About Chris
Pastor Chris Gash is a dedicated leader, family man, and a passionate minister who loves to empower people in their faith journey. Born and raised in Cleveland County, NC, Chris has deep roots in the community he continues to serve. He is happily married to Sharece Fluellen Gash, and together, they are proud parents of two wonderful children, Paul Christopher II and Skylar Giselle.
A 2003 graduated from Burns High School, Chris went on to play for the Men’s Basketball Team at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Following graduation, Chris embraced his calling to ministry, using his gifts to inspire and uplift others.
With a heart for his home community, Chris is committed to addressing the challenges facing families today. He holds a Master of Divinity and an MBA, equipping him with the skills to lead effectively. He is also a proud graduate of the Gardner-Webb University M. Christopher Wright School of Divinity where he earned his Doctorate in Ministry.
